![]() If you are using IntelliCAD for your design work, then one copy of DWFĬomposer would allow you to write DWF files that you can share. Suppliers only need to view the data, the free DWF Viewer is enough for At this point, since your production people and Process, the round tripping capability of DWF Composer and AutoCAD is worth Right now if you have an electronic-based review Sharing DWGs, in the longer terms you will see the benefits of DWF once ![]() SoĪlthough you crave a DWG Viewer at this moment because you are accustomed to It is an intelligentįormat that is more suited to sharing than DWG, e.g. The DWG Viewer that comes with DWF Composer lets you view, print, or plotĪutodesk will be developing more tools around DWF. DWF Composer lets you view, markup, and measure DWF files.Ģ. Wouldn't it have been a good idea to offer the DWG viewer for sale separately? It appears to be a standalone pkg.ġ. We need a way to generate DWF's with layer info. Instead, the powers that be in this co are insisting we switch to using Intellicad. The primary reason I need the DWG viewer is that we are not upgrading our ACAD pkg. We only use DWF's for references for our suppliers and for our production people. We don't use multi-page files, we don't do markups on DWF's, etc, etc. We haven't been using a very new ACAD pkg, our drawings are very simplistic 2D, relative to what can be achieved with ACAD, (they are not simplistic for what we use them for.) We have made due with VoloView for years. I know that, really, that is the situation I am in. It seems to me, that a lot of people are buying the pkg for the DWG viewer and its plot/publish capabilities, and have no real understanding of what Composer is for, and possibly no use for it. I've been reading a lot of posts regarding Composer in the last few days, to try to gain a better understanding of this pkg.
